Car Accidents in Arizona: What You Should Know

Car accidents in Arizona

Advanced Spine discusses automobile accidents in the greater Phoenix area and accident treatments.

When you are involved in a car accident in Arizona, the law requires you to remain at the site until a law enforcement official arrives. Failure to do so ma result in a charge of Grade 2 or Grade 3 felony as well as the suspension of your license. This does not mean, however, that you are actually required to actually make a report. In fact, a report will automatically be made by law enforcement if the accident results any of the following:

  • Death or injury
  • Property damage exceeding $1,000
  • Issuance of a citation

Whether the accident results in a filed report or not, Arizona law requires you to share certain information with all of the other parties involved. This includes any other drivers as well as passenger and pedestrians involved in the accident. This information includes:

  • Name, address and other contact information
  • Drivers license number
  • License plate number of all vehicles involved
  • Auto insurance information

Following the car accident, it is important to contact your auto insurance company right away. The insurance company can then provide you with the proper compensation to make you whole again or to meet your minimum liability requirements in accordance with Arizona law.

Of course, if any injuries resulted from the car accident, you will also need to have those addressed by a medical professional. At Advanced Spine & Rehab, we specialize in assisting patients who have been involved in car accidents. Contact us today to learn more about how we can help you feel better once more!
